ABOUT ME

My name is Dr. Larry Moore. I am a retired educator with 30 years of experience as a substitute teacher, High school science teacher, middle school assistant principal and principal, and high school assistant principal and principal. I am a veteran of the U.S. army. I have a masters degree in Secondary Science education and a Doctorate degree in Educational leadership. I am an active mentor in my community.

I am running for school board district three. As a retired educator I believe that we must do all that we can to give all of the students in our community a chance to succeed in life. That means providing them with a superior education. As a retired educator I am keenly aware of the obstacles that our students face.

In order for us to help students we must do the following:

REDUCE CLASS SIZE TO REASONABLE LEVELS - it is much easier for teaching and learning to occur in a classroom of 25 students as opposed to a classroom of 35 or more students.

DEVELOP OR EXPAND ALTERNATIVE MODELS FOR STUDENTS - some students do not conform to traditional schools.

RECRUIT AND RETAIN THE BEST - there is an upcoming teacher shortage. In order for us to attract the best we must pay them well, provide realistic opportunities for professional development and growth, give them supportive leadership, and provide them with safe working environments.

PRIORITIZE THE BUDGET TO FOCUS ON CLASS SIZE AND TEACHER PAY
